Naps, today, are mandatory

WHEREVER YOU ARE, YOU NEED DEFENSE AGAINST THE CARES OF THE WORLD

(Author photo)

Naps are good. Ask my friend outside the California Street Trader Joe’s, whose paintings I often buy though admittedly do not hang.

I understand his position. Though I don’t work as hard as he does, I do follow the news, and to follow the news is to exhaust oneself. Relief is hard to come by.

After taking this photo on a Saturday, I attended church on Sunday. It’s a church denounced, in recent public commentary, as being Woke. This we accept (as a badge of honor;) we have a rainbow flag, and signs like “Immigrants Welcome” and “Black Lives Matter” out front, those sorts of blasphemies.

Reporting on our Woke rating from the pulpit, the pastor opened with a recommendation for naps. This followed just 24 hours after the above message from my street friend. What can I say?

God’s answer to today’s burdens? Nap.
